A lot of people choose to walk or jog as a form of exercise to help them lose weight and tone their body. For those who prefer to work out in the privacy of their own home, a treadmill makes an excellent choice. Treadmills are basically “moving sidewalks” that allow the user to walk or run at their own desired pace indoors.

You can find treadmills in most gyms, or you can purchase your own and use it at home if you choose. Anyone can achieve great results by using a treadmill if they know how to use it properly. You can tone your muscles and get better lung function just by walking or jogging on a treadmill daily. Good treadmills allow you to adjust the speed and tension of the walk so you can adapt and increase the challenge as time goes on.

If you’re just starting out with a treadmill workout, keep a log of your progress. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can go from doing a mile or two in several minutes, to a mile or two in just a couple of quick minutes. A plus to using a treadmill is that you can continue to work out even in bad weather. If it’s raining or snowing outside, you can still work out indoors on the treadmill.
